Christmas Tree Carol

This simple carol is a setting from 1990 of a poem by Margaret Nixon (d. 2014) which relates the different qualities of love and hope at Christmas as we decorate a tree. Each of the four verses has a different scoring: unison TB, unison SA, a cappella SATB and full choir and piano/organ with a descant for the final verse.
It was first performed at the Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at All Saints Church, Wokingham on 24 December 2005 by the church choir directed by Ralph Franklin.
