These canticles for Morning Prayer includes settings of the Venite, the Te Deum and the Jubilate Deo scored for SATB choir and organ. The service is also available scored for SAMen and organ.
The Jubilate Deo was originally composed for SAMen and organ in April 2018 for publication in the book RSCM Anthems for Sopranos, Altos and Unison Men. I prepared a four-part version for SATB and organ shortly afterwards. The Te Deum and Venite settings were added during the COVID-19 lockdown months in 2020 and 2021.
The SATB versions of the Te Deum and Jubilate Deo were first performed by Exultate Singers, conducted by David Ogden, in York Minster in May 2022.
