Rejoice and be merry

This joyful Christmas carol sets familiar English words discovered in a west-gallery songbook from Dorset – choirs and bands used to sit in the west gallery of churches before organs became more common in the late 18th century. The music is in a jazzy, ragtime-influenced style, which I hope is a good match for the uplifting quality of the words. The music was written in 2005 for David Ogden and Exultate Singers.
