The Bristol Service: Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis

This rhythmical setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis for ATB choir was written in October 2005 for Mark Lee, Paul Walton and the Lay Clerks of Bristol Cathedral. The Magnificat is written in a free meter style with occasional divisi up to AATTBB at times. The Nunc Dimittis features a repeated 2-bar chord sequence in TBB over which the altos sing the text in a free ranging melody. This is followed by a quiet and reflective setting of the Gloria.
