This is a rhythmical setting of the well-known anonymous 15th century Christmas text, scored for SATB with division and featuring irregular meters and harmony that often grows from simple chords to complex ones, often in a mirror harmony manner. It was written for David Ogden and Exultate Singers, who gave the first performance at their Carols by Candlelight concert in Bristol in December 2017.
